In April 2010, Yew Choon was awarded the contract for lifting, transporting and shipping of 4 anchor piles at a fabrication yard in Kabil Port, Batam, Indonesia.
The piles, each weighing 470Te, had to be raised from ground level and transported out of the yard to the jetty area where they have to be rolled onto Yew Choon’s barge by means of RORO system.
For this operation, Yew Choon choose to use its 1100Te 4-Point Lift System for the lifting of the piles/2 sets of 12 axle Goldhofer SPT trailers for the transport and one of their 280ft barges with a 2400Hp tug for shipping the piles from Kabil Port, Batam to Tanjung Uncang, Batam.
