Yew Choon has been awarded the contract of loading, shipping and delivering 150 modules ranging from 30 Tons up to 250 Tons from Batam Indonesia to Jurong Island Singapore for the prestigious SPT EXXON MOBIL project.
The contract scope of work includes internal shifting of the modules at the fabrication yard in Batam to the yard’s jetty and loading them on a 280 foot or 200 foot barge either by RORO method or lift on by crane.
The modules will then be shipped from Batam to Jurong Island and again either be offloaded by RORO or lift off.
Yew Choon has deployed the following equipment for this project.
- 60 Axle line’s Goldhofer PST/THP trailers
- Demag CC2800 crane with 60 meter SSL configuration (600Te capacity)
- 280 x 80 x 16 ft barge with 2400 HP tug
- 200 x 60 x 14 ft barge with 1700 HP tug
After intensive pre-engineering and water current survey around the Batam jetty area, Yew Choon decided to fit out the 280 ft barge with 4 pieces 12 Tons anchor mooring winches for holding the barge in position while doing the RO-RO movements.
Shipments are in full swing at this moment and the expected completion date will be around the middle of March 2010. |
